The programme prompted her to engage in deliberate self-reflection, helping her map out a route to attain her ambitions. She recognised that the path to success was riddled with twists, turns, and lessons learned through trial and error. A pivotal moment in Eni’s transformation was her unexpected encounter with public speaking during the Aleto programme. Munira Devey

2023 Alumni
Munira had long grappled with issues of self-confidence, which had held her back from asserting herself and taking ownership of her academic and professional pursuits. Her journey was further complicated by her search for role models she could relate to, particularly given her upbringing in a council estate as the child of a single, disabled mother. Munira’s time at a Russell Group University was marked by a sense of isolation, with both educators and peers exhibiting classist attitudes.

Before becoming a part of the Aleto programme, Ifeoluwa encountered a series of challenges that left him feeling directionless in his career pursuits. He lacked a well-defined career plan and the strategic steps required to achieve his goals. As he transitioned into the professional world, he grappled with a profound lack of understanding about navigating a successful career path.

Carl Hassan

Coming from an immigrant background, Carl felt immense pressure and a sense of duty to excel in life to support his family. Aleto Foundation played a pivotal role in helping Carl find his purpose, connect with a powerful network, and achieve his goals. Carl’s story is a testament to the power of mentorship and support in helping individuals with backgrounds like his reach their full potential and make a positive impact on their communities.

OVO Energy

2020 Partnership
A shocking statistic from Energy Systems Catapult (2020) revealed that only 2% of employees in the energy sector are black, highlighting a glaring issue. This trailblazing initiative, exclusively available to the Aleto network, is poised to shatter the glass ceiling of ethnic diversity in leadership roles within the green energy and decarbonisation industries. It has been carefully designed to help support the progression of 13 Black professionals in leadership roles by helping them to develop key skills and insights on their journey to becoming senior leaders.
